New Medicare Advantage carrier enters 14 Iowa counties

For the first time, residents of 14 counties in Iowa will have Health Alliance Medicare Advantage plans available as they make their choices. October 15 marks the start of the Medicare Annual Election Period (AEP), when most people on Medicare need to make their plan choices for coverage in 2015. Collaboration With CoOportunity Health Announced

CoOportunity Health and University of Iowa Health Alliance (UIHA) announced today they are collaborating to introduce two unique health plan products for Iowans this fall. Both plan designs have been submitted to the Iowa Insurance Division for approval with the intention of offering them on the new Iowa Health Insurance Marketplace, the Iowa SHOP Exchange, and in the open market for individuals and employer groups of all sizes. Executive Director Announced

The University of Iowa Health Alliance (UIHA) announced today Dan Kueter will lead the collaborative efforts of the organization formed in June 2012.  Kueter, 43, has extensive experience in the health care industry; most recently as President and CEO of UnitedHealthcare for Iowa and Central Illinois. He will serve as executive director of the alliance, which includes Mercy Health Network, Genesis Health System, Mercy Medical Center – Cedar Rapids and University of Iowa Health Care.  The alliance Board of Directors made the appointment, effective immediately.  More>>
